Workshop on Multilingualism at the UNESCO-Associated Schools meeting
Students from the IES Pedra da Auga took part at the IV Galician UNESCO-Associated Schools meeting in Pontevedra, on February 2012.
They presented a workshop about multilingualism, where the other students (mainly from Primary Schools) had the opportunity to choose a language from the following ones: German, Modern Greek (Europe), Chinese (Asia) or Swahili (Africa). Our students used the international signs to show their colleagues how to greet others and present themselves in the chosen language. They also linked internatiomnal signs to the meeting´s slogans about the importance of education in the global world, as well as singing and dancing "Jambo Bwana", a greeting song in Swahili.
They finally presented to the whole community (teachers, other students and their families), what they had learned. This was at the closing exhibition, and you can see the result in the following video:
