Book club 2nd meeting

The Kite RunnerOur 2nd virtual meeting will discuss The Kite Runner, the first English-language fiction written about Afghanistan, by Khaled Hosseini, a former Afghan doctor who fled his native country in 1980, shortly after the outbreak of their civil war.

Irish-born Eithne Keane, former language assisstant in our school, will help you learn some interesting facts about St. Patrick’s Day through a talk and a fun quiz.

British food is often criticised, but is it truly that bad? Prepare to be surprised; the most typical foods eaten in Britain today have many international influences! We’ll also spill the beans on the culinary culture of the British Isles, including teatime traditions and the timings of meals. Along the way, we’ll explore funny food idioms that really take the biscuit.
