Come and be entertained by Anna Conforti from Down Under as she shares stories about:

- Living in a melting-pot society
- The likelihood of being eaten by sharks and crocodiles
- Australia's convict past
- How to talk like a "true blue Aussie"
- Being paid to stay home to watch a horse race
and more.......

1st Annual Spelling Bee

BeeAre you good at spelling in English? How well do you know your ABCs? Show your stuff at our First Annual Spelling Bee Contest on March, 12!!!!

The Spelling Bee will be carried out in three 30-minute sessions by level:  Basic (Basic 1 and 2), Intermediate (Intermediate 1 & 2) and Advanced (Advanced 1 & 2).

There will be 1 pronouncer who will also act as judge and two additional judges. One judge will keep track of spelling time (30 seconds). All  judges will write the spelling as it is by the spellers.

Gústache bailar? Aprende a bailar coma un auténtico escocés!

Dous bailaríns achegarán ó alumnado aspectos do baile e da música tradicional escocesa e logo estes poderán facerlles preguntas aos bailaríns sobre aspectos relacionados co folclore e a música escocesa.

Os bailaríns interpretarán o seu baile e logo daránlle instrucións ao alumnado, que finalmente tamén bailará ao son da música.

Play Ball! Understanding America through its national pastime

BaseballBaseball doesn’t translate well for Europeans. Its rules are difficult to understand and it never looks like anything is happening! But like when you learn a language, it’s often the things you can’t translate which teach you the most. And learning a little bit about this sport can tell you a lot about the history, character and language of the USA.

Tea at fiveDo you want to put your English into practice? Come to the EOI – Sección Ribeira (IES Nº 1 Ribeira) and join us for some great speaking activities.  We will be playing Taboo, chatting over a relaxing cup of English tea and telling stories.

Hidden Wales

Angharad Jenkins, Welsh fiddle player and artist, will talk about Welsh language, culture and music. AND she will play a few tunes for us too!
