SPEAKING WORKSHOP

Yesterday, we had the first edition of the COOKING CONTEST in our Speaking workshop for 1º ESO. We had a really good time watching the videos of the students cooking their dishes. All of them were delicious. We want to thank 2º ESO students who were the jury for their enthusiasm and especially to the families for their support.

HAMLET TRAILER

I had the time of my life shooting Romeo and Juliet last year, and this year I wanted to relive the experience of shooting another play by Shakespeare. The students, however, were very different from the previous ones, but there was the perfect play for them: Hamlet, so I decided that that would be the play, and I was right, as they all got into character immediately. Since experience is a plus, we started as soon as we could, and we had more time to rehearse and shoot: every Wednesday and Friday there they were, ready to play their lines, they never quit! I really want to thank them for all those happy moments I'll never forget.

HAMLET SHOOTING

Yesterday we started shooting Hamlet. It was great fun and after several shootings, we finally did it.

Is internet addiction really a problem?

I think HeyGazza has got a point but the internet is really addictive, especially young people are obssessed with it. Less and less, they meet their friends face to face. I mainly use the internet for my work and to keep in touch with family and friends.

ROMEO AND JULIET 12-13

When I first met my students in year 10 (3º ESO) I thought  I had to do Romeo and Juliet with them, when they were in year 1 1 (4º ESO), as I did a couple of years ago with another group. So I waited, and when they finally got there,  I proposed the play. Some of them took the chance immediately, some others needed a second thought, but  eventually, I had all the people required to act it out.

After an audition, the roles were given and we started rehearsing in February.  The atmosphere was great, nearly every Friday we gathered together in the Assembly Hall at breaktime. Apart from hard working there was a lot of laughters with hilarious rehearsals and glorious bloopers,  including my own ones with burst into laughters, it was really difficult for me to stop laughing!

We had to struggle against time, breaks were not enough, I had to ask some of my collegues for their classtime. I really want to thank them all. We even spent a weekend at school finishing the play, can you believe it? Amazing, isn't it? But that's the way my students are, AMAZING. So, as Marta Barton wrote for the final scene 'this is one of those memories that will always stay with me. Here's to the hard workers!!'

NEWSPAPER WEEK AT COVATERREÑA

Hi there!

The whole school-  Nursery,  Primary and ESO- has devoted a couple of weeks to study the Press, and so in 3º ESO, during the conversation classes, we´ve had the chance to read British newspapers, both broadsheets and tabloids. Next week we are going to talk about a catchy article from a newspaper of our choice!!
