EASTER!

Peace Day 2020

On January 30th, we celebrated Peace Day in our school.

In English class, we brainstormed words and ideas that were related to peace. In arts, the students created peaces doves, and beautiful words that we hung up in the hallway. Some students drew doves and colored them with colors they thought represented peace.  Other students cut out doves and used a technique with toothbrushes to splatter paint around the doves.

Christmas 2019

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2019!!

During this holiday season, the students learned all types of holiday vocabulary through worksheets, decoration, songs, and sculpting with clay

HALLOWEEN 2019

Last week we had so much fun celebrating the American and British tradition of Halloween in our school!!

The younger kids celebrated with singing, dancing, spooky boxes, and lots of sweet treats.

Sing For The Climate - PDI 2018/19 Pensa en Verde

Presentámosvos: “Sing For The Climate”!!!

2019 English Festival

Please do not forget to join us at our end-of-the-year English festival on Thursday, June 13th. We will be showcasing all of our talented students as well as saying goodbye to our sixth graders and wishing them luck in high school! Sixth grade graduation will follow the festival. See you there!

End of the Year at Sobreira

We are on the cusp of finishing the school year, which means we will be bringing our English activities to a close, as well. We have had a great year full of learning and fantastic artwork!!

Sending Off Our Language Assistant

We would like to say a big thank you to our language assistant, Andrew, for the work he has done this year and for his willingness to share his culture with us. We were very lucky to have him with us this year and will miss him dearly!

Easter at Sobreira

Spring has arrived! Let’s see what our students have been up to…

The little ones got to work creating colorful Easter eggs. Three and four year olds used blue, yellow, pink, purple and green crayons for their eggs while 5 year olds, first and second graders made their eggs using magic! (They used white crayons and watercolor, shh...)

Valentine's Day 2019

This Valentine's Day, we thought in GREEN!

To celebrate, we wanted to illustrate that love heals: it heals ourselves, it heals the Earth and it heals others. Our students made a ton of hearts in Arts class to fill the corridor with love. Some students made raindrops, other students made flowers, trees and seeds, and others purely made hearts. Students also made silhouettes to give life to the mural.
