At the end of May, we had to say goodbye to our English language auxiliar. Jonathan came back to Florida, in the USA.

With love, all the Primary students wanted to do a drawing for him. Have a nice trip, Jonathan! Take care and...see you soon!

Thank you for all your work!

See you, Jonathan!! Good luck in your new projects!! de marina otero

CUBIST PORTRAITS

October 2021

Let´s know a little bit about Pablo Picasso, a Spanish painter from Málaga.

He painted cubist portraits: faces with a frontal view and a profile view. Yes! Cubism.

This is a very short presentation about Picasso that we watched and explained in class

After that, our artists in 4th grade created their own cubist pictures.

Here are some of our students cubist portraits

ONE BLACK DOT CAN BE...

October 2021

Have you read this book? I recommend it to you.

In 4th Grade, we were using one black dot  to create our own art drawing.

These are some amazing ideas they created. What a talented bunch of artists!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

25th November 2021

American people celebrate Thanksgiving  the last Thursday of November. This year it´s on Thursday, the 25th.

Jonathan prepared a presentation to talk about this celebration.

We saw a video about the origins of Thanksgiving.

Click to watch the presentation and the videos

Here are the children listening about Thanksgiving.

And... in the pictures you can see the  "THANKFUL TREE" we made. In this activity, all the children from 1st to 6th wrote on a leaf something they were grateful for ( "my family, my life, my school,...") The big tree is on a wall at the corridor.

Our 4th graders´ Thanksgiving THANKFUL TREES

PRIMARY COLOURS, SECONDARY COLOURS.... AND HOMEMADE PLAYDOUGH!!

October 2021

Here is our Art project with Primary and Secondary colours. Lovely pictures!

Making homemade playdogh is fun! 4th Graders made their own playdough with an easy recipe. You only need:

  • flour
  • salt
  • water
  • oil
  • talcum powder

The activity was great because we worked the Primary and Secondary colours at the same time.

Here are some pictures of their work:

MAKING SOCK PUPPETS

3rd Graders made their own puppets with old socks and reused materials. Recycling is important but  Reducing and Reusing are very important as well.

Here are their creative crafts.

THANKSGIVING DAY 2020

Jonathan, our conversation auxiliar, made an explanation about Thanksgiving Day.

He talked about the origins of this celebration, the way that Americans celebrate it, the special food for that day, ...

After that, in Art class, we made turkeys with recycling materials: this time we used glass jars.

The children decided (and wrote on the feathers) the things they were thankful for.

With teacher Ana, 4th and 6th graders made crafts with cardboard boxes and colourful turkeys in Andy Warhol´s style.
