American Breakfast 2013

On Monday January 14th our 5th graders prepared a traditional American Breakfast. The menu included scrambled eggs, fried bacon, freshly squeezed orange juice, toast, cereal and more! The children all brought something from home to contribute to the feast. After splitting into teams each group of students prepared one of the items.Whether it was setting the table, making the juice, or toasting the toast it was a group effort to make such a yummy meal. Quickly a delicious aroma filled the room and everyone sat down to enjoy the food after all their hard work. The American breakfast was a success, because the students all did their best to speak in English while participating in an activity from an English speaking country. Every year the kids look forward to this day because it combines two things they love; food and learning. The pictures below demonstrate the fun everyone had at the American Breakfast.

Lois helped Teacher Fran fry the bacon while Adrian worked on making the freshly squeezed orange juice. By the smiles on their faces you can tell the fresh bacon smell has filled the room.

Laura and Nerea had the task of beating the eggs. It was a big job but the girls did great!

Alex Silva brought a cake which everyone loved. You can see some of the students in this photo waiting patiently to dig in!

Ainara, Alex, Samuel, Kike, and Laura are pictured here at the toasting station. The children enjoyed counting down, in English of course, to see when the bread would pop out of the toaster!

The food is ready now, everyone sit down and enjoy!

Our talented head chef and her assistant made sure we all had a wonderful American breakfast!!
