Os alumnos e alumnas de 4º cantando The Frisbee Song, con esta canción aprendemos a diferenciar as distintas partes do día: in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening and at night.
On Friday, May 29th, all students and teachers in Abanqueiro School enjoyed a typical American School fair. We played games such as musical chairs, bobbing for apples, relay races, etc... And, at break, we ate delicious hot dogs. At the end of the day, the whole school danced along to the song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.

For Sciences in 6th grade we have been learning about the human body’s five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. The students formed groups and made projects to connect the senses with the parts of the body: the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and hands. Last week they brought their posters to English class and gave oral presentations about the five senses.
This trimester the 5th grade students have been working diligently on their Sciences project and have learned a lot about how volcanoes explode. Divided up into half a dozen groups, the students created miniature volcanoes using water bottles, modeling clay, paper, and paint. On Wednesday, we watched the volcano models explode when the teams mixed dish soap, food coloring, vinegar, and baking soda together. 1st, 3rd, and 6th graders also came outside to watch the oral presentations.
