A UNESCO celebra todos os 21 de febreiro a diversidade lingüística a través do Día Internacional da Lingua Materna.

O 21 de febreiro celébrase anualmente o día internacional da lingua materna co fin de fomentar a diversidade lingüística, a educación multilingüe e a necesidade de tomar conciencia sobre a importancia da educación na lingua materna.
