Macbeth. W

Once more the English department have been able to offer our students another performance in English for them to have fun and hear and understand as much English as possible .

This time the Pocket Oxford Tehetare Company have shown a clever and witty adaptation of Shakespeare´stragedy MACBETH . W hat might seem a " pretty boring " play at first it  turned out to be a very funny and intelligent adaptation of this tragedy , very close to the students´world and daily life . We see Shakespearre as a man working in a fast food restaurant , along with huis wife , but writing a new play at the same time to make both ends meet . His boss , called Duncan , is not a vrery nice chap so helped by different employees , called Banquo and Mucdaff ,  Shakespeare tries to kill him so as to take over the restaurant . The three witches -  cleaners at the restaurant  - had made three predictions to him long before , predictions  which  come true in the end  These three predictions had to do with the burger restaurant  being invaded by  salad , various vegetables , being murdered by a carrot ...... so as you can guess all the characters in the proper play of  Macbeth were alive in this peculiar fast food restaurant .

Of course all the employees of the restaurant as well as the owner were people from the audience - I mean our students - , all were properly dressed for their " role " in the play and they all did their best brilliantly .

Catchy  and modern songs were played and danced in varios parts of the play , which made the audience feel more in their own century .

Another big success for another English company whose job is moving from one school to another all over Spain to make the English language more attractive , lively and closer to our students . Thanks very much for your valuable help. Hope to see you all around soon .
