FARMBOT
The development of technology in agriculture requires digital and computing skills. These subjects are not often dealt with in secondary and higher training and farmers need data and references to adopt new cultural practices with connected equipment.
Chamber of Agriculture in Normandy manage a project to :
• Create 20 experimental and educational sites in Normandy using with Farmbot
• Inform/train young people and future farmers about digital technology and open-source hardware in farming
• Innovate teaching methods by crossing agronomical, technical and digital skills and by mixing farmers, researchers and students.
• Experiment the process with local productions, new sensors and improve the characteristics of the robot
• Engage a dialogue with people on the development of the urban agriculture.
• Show how the digital technology can reduce difficulty of work, limit the environmental impact and improve the productivity.
