Basic concepts about hardware

In this section we are going to learn basic concepts about hardware and computer.

There are several basic definitions:

• COMPUTER: Is a electronic machine capable to process digital information
• BIT: Is the smallest unit of digital information. It can has the value 0 or 1
• BYTE:  is a group of 8 bits
• HARDWARE: refers to the physical parts or components of a computer.
• SOFTWARE: Is the logic of the computer, that consist of data or computer instructions to "make decisions"
• BINARY CODE: Is a numeric system to represent numbers, letters and other characters. It uses binary system: 0 and 1
• DECIMAL CODE: Is a numeric system tha we use to count in daily . It uses numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
• MOTHERBOARD:Is a rigid board where all the computer components are connected
