ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT IES DE FOZ

	The IES de Foz is a center in which medium and higher level Hostelry Training Cycles are taught: Middle Cycle of Cooking, Middle Cycle of Services, Higher Cycle of Kitchen Management and Dual Cycle of Service Management. The hostelry cycles in the IES de Foz have been a benchmark in the training of the sector in Galicia for more than 30 years.

 

	With the request of the Erasmus Charter our educational center wants to show its desire to participate in the program, as part of the strategy to carry out the modernization and internationalization of the education of our institution.
Our school currently participates in a KA102 program for middle school and basic vocational training, which encourages mobility and collaboration between European educational centers. Erasmus +.

	They have given us the opportunity to establish contact with educational centers and companies from various countries in Europe: Italy, France, Portugal, Hungary and the Czech Republic with whom we have a close relationship, both with companies and with counterpart institutes. Through these contacts we hope to establish partnerships with other higher education educational centers and companies in their environment. Finally, we mention that we also currently use the direct search of companies for the realization of mobilities of practices, through the use of information and communication technologies and thanks to the attendance to courses organized by "SEPIE" and to contact seminars .

 

	The geographical area in which we want to move is that of the European Union, as we understand that it is the geographical framework in which we live and with which we relate more closely. We are preferably interested in Italian, Portuguese, English and French speaking countries. We have teachers who can teach support classes in all of them.
At present, our center carries out, through the Erasmus program, student mobility (middle cycle) to carry out internships in companies and "job shadowing" activities for professors in equivalent institutes. The application of this Erasmus letter allows the IES of Foz to carry out the purpose of intensifying the international training of its students of Higher Level Vocational Training by completing, in part or in full, their compulsory practice (FCT) and his continuing education in companies from other countries.

 

We want to address the following groups:

	.- With the Mobility of students for internships, students will be able to carry out an internship for a period of time in a company from another European country. Up until now, we were only a center for students who did internships in European companies. We intend to expand this section by being recipients of internships. Through these actions the students will have as objectives to acquire professional experience and also to know the demands of the labour market at European level, acquire specific skills and improve the understanding of the economic and social environment. These practices will be recognized through the ECTS credits system and will validate the module "Training in work centers".
We believe that these types of actions favour the creation of better qualified future professionals. We are committed to grant full recognition to the period of study abroad through the system of academic credits or a compatible system depending on the case. Also to have updated the offer of courses annually as well as to make the necessary documentation to establish study agreements and certify the results obtained.

	.-With the mobility of personnel for training in companies or institutions of higher education, our teaching staff will be able to develop practical skills that they can later transmit to their students. Train to form better. We also want to extend this mobility to the non-teaching staff of our center so that they can also enrich themselves by sharing experiences and good practices that they can apply in their jobs. In 2017 an “International European Plan” was carried out so as to have our institution upgraded and internationalised.  It is our hope to establish alliance for knowledge with firms both to promote innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as strategic partnership with partner institutions, businesses or any other entity to foster transversal cooperation in the field of education. Cooperation is to be accomplished in the  context of achieving sustainable, balanced results for all the partners and therefore, with a clear focus on the future.
	By taking part in an international cooperation project we mostly aim to strengthen our staff and student´s professional development and to contribute to our institution modernization.
Countries will be chosen according to:
- Students´preferences, as long as the host organization follows key procedures, training and programme.
- Countries where the students can learn a language that will provide then with easier access to labour market.
- Previous contact with host partners, who facilitate the whole process as well as the efficiency of the mobility activities involved.
We strongly believe that these international cooperation projects can mean a labour opportunity for our students, opening up new horizons and job prospects.
Moreover, they also provide them with cultural enrichment.

It is in this sense that we are committed to:
- Both hosting and sending staff and students
- Providing support measures on an international departmental and administrative level, so that those taking part in the project may be able to carry out their tasks.
- Make sure that the activities, the finance system, and the end results of the project are widely spread on the Internet, through oral and poster presentations, gastronomic workshops, specialised courses or any other spreading activity. As a result, the whole of the academic community, high-teaching institutions and other partners (firms, educational authorities, organizations, associations….) can get to know them.

We rely on the full support of our entire institution. In this regard, we will encourage students, teaching and non teaching staff to participate in this kind of projects.
	The impact IES de Foz expects to achieve by developing this kind of project, regarding “The Modernization and Internalization Agenda” and its five basic priorities is as follows:

1) Increase the number of qualified students in Vocational Training to meet the UE needs. Due to the current complex labour situation caused by the economic crisis, a major training need and a greater suitability to new markets arise, mostly among young people in Spain.
By providing this kind of mobilities, our school aims to give students new opportunities to improve their future expectations as well as their professional chances. At the same tame, the UE is being promoted as a study-and-research destination. Our ultimate aim is to encourage students to get to higher education since they are given the chance to train abroad.

2. Improve the quality and relevance of higher education in the EU. The development of this type of projects will promote the improvement of the quality of this type of education, since it will provide added value beyond the classroom training, basically through the mobility programs. We want to make higher education more attractive and of quality. We intend to promote the information and communication technologies of the institution. Our center currently has two wired networks. We also have a wireless wifi network and we have a virtual classroom based on a Moodle platform and hosted by the Ministry of Education. We also decided to adopt the WhatsApp application, with it we could create groups and, in addition to sending and receiving messages through the Internet, we could exchange images, videos and audio messages with what the monitoring of mobilities would gain in quality.

 

 

 

3. Reinforce quality through mobility and cross-border cooperation. Cooperation with other European countries will contribute to the improvement of the quality of education in the school. Staff mobility will be the key to this task, through the knowledge of the way other European organizations act with the main educational opportunities and objectives. An important point for us in our strategy of modernizing the center is the close contact with the companies with which we collaborate now and with those we will collaborate in the future.

 

 

 

4. Make the knowledge triangle work. Relate higher education, research and business to promote excellence and regional development. On the one hand, cooperation projects are always related to research and training, especially Multilateral Projects, in continuous contact with the working world in order to ensure that research is focused on the real needs of society. On the other hand, mobility fosters this type of collaboration between education and educational organizations with companies, contributing to an improvement in the quality of education. With the mobility of teaching staff, in addition to strengthening the link between education, research and companies we will have the opportunity to be up-to-date on the most innovative technologies, which will allow us to update the contents of our educational offer, to better train, and in a more according to the real needs of the labor market way, to our students.

 

 

5. Improve management and financing. The development of the Erasmus projects will put our organizations in contact with organizations from other geographical areas and cultures, bringing the experience of these organizations in management and financing matters, contributing to the improvement of our country in both areas. The financing mechanisms in support of excellence to meet the needs of the labor market will also help to achieve it. The companies will have better trained employees, which will ultimately promote the regeneration of the economy of the regions and generate a positive impact on the environment.

 


DECLARACIÓN DE POLÍTICA ERASMUS: NUESTRA ESTRATEGIA

El IES de Foz es un centro en el que se imparten ciclos formativos de Grado Medio y Superior de Hostelería: Ciclo Medio de Cocina, Ciclo Medio de Servicios, Ciclo Superior de Dirección de Cocina y Ciclo Dual de Dirección de Servicios. Los ciclos de hostelería del IES de Foz son un referente en la formación del sector en Galicia desde hace más de 30 años.

 

Con la solicitud de la Carta Erasmus nuestro centro educativo quiere poner de manifiesto su deseo de participar en el programa, como parte de la estrategia para llevar a cabo la modernización y la internacionalización de la educación de nuestra institución.

Nuestro centro educativo participa en la actualidad en un programa KA102 para ciclos medios y formación profesional básica, que fomentan la movilidad y colaboración entre centros educativos europeos. Erasmus+.

 

Nos han dado la oportunidad de establecer contacto con centros educativos y empresas de diversos países de Europa: Italia, Francia, Portugal, Hungría y República Checa con los que mantenemos estrecha relación, tanto con empresas como con institutos homólogos. A través de estos contactos esperamos poder establecer alianzas con otros centros educativos de enseñanza superior y empresas de su entorno. Por último mencionar que también utilizamos en la actualidad la búsqueda directa de empresas para la realización de movilidades de prácticas, a través del uso de tecnologías de la información y la comunicación y gracias a la asistencia a cursos organizados por “SEPIE” y a seminarios de contacto.

 

El área geográfica en la que queremos movernos es la de la Unión Europea por entender que es el marco geográfico en el que vivimos y con el que nos relacionamos más estrechamente. Estamos interesados preferentemente en países de habla italiana, portuguesa, inglesa y francesa. Disponemos de profesores que pueden impartir clases de apoyo en todas ellas.

En la actualidad nuestro centro lleva a cabo, a través del programa Erasmus movilidades de estudiantes (ciclo medio) para realizar prácticas en empresas y actividades de “job shadowing” para profesores en institutos homólogos. La solicitud de esta carta Erasmus permite al IES de Foz llevar a cabo el propósito de intensificar la formación internacional de sus estudiantes de Ciclos Formativos de Grado Superior mediante la realización, en parte o en su totalidad, de sus prácticas obligatorias (FCT) y de su formación continua en empresas de otros países.

 

Queremos dirigirnos a los siguientes grupos:

 

.-Con la Movilidad de estudiantes para prácticas, los alumnos podrán realizar un período de prácticas durante un tiempo en una empresa de otro país europeo. Hasta el momento únicamente éramos centro emisor de estudiantes que realizaban las prácticas en empresas europeas, nos proponemos ampliar este apartado siendo también receptores de alumnos para prácticas. Mediante estas acciones los alumnos tendrán como objetivos adquirir experiencia profesional y también conocer las exigencias del mercado laboral a nivel europeo, adquirir aptitudes específicas y mejorar la comprensión del entorno económico y social. Dichas prácticas tendrán el reconocimiento mediante sistema de créditos ECTS y convalidarán el módulo de "Formación en centros de trabajo".

Creemos que este tipo de acciones favorecen la creación de futuros profesionales mejor cualificados. Nos comprometemos a otorgar pleno reconocimiento al periodo de estudio en el extranjero mediante el sistema de créditos académicos o un sistema compatible según los casos. También a tener actualizada la oferta de cursos anualmente así como a realizar la documentación necesaria para establecer los acuerdos de estudios y certificar los resultados obtenidos.

 

.-Con la Movilidad de personal para formación en empresas o en instituciones de educación superior, nuestro personal docente podrá desarrollar aptitudes prácticas que posteriormente podrá transmitir a su alumnado. Formarse para formar mejor. También queremos hacer extensiva esta movilidad al personal no docente de nuestro centro para que puedan enriquecerse también compartiendo experiencias y buenas prácticas que podrán aplicar en sus puestos de trabajo.

Para conseguir la estrategia de modernización e internacionalización de nuestra institución hemos desarrollado un "Plan Europeo de Internacionalización" en el año 2017.

Es nuestro deseo el de establecer alianzas para el conocimiento con empresas con el fin de promover la innovación y el espíritu emprendedor y alianzas estratégicas con instituciones socias y empresas u otras instituciones para promover la cooperación transversal en materia de educación. La cooperación queremos crearla en el marco de la obtención de resultados sostenibles y equilibrados para todos los socios y por tanto con proyección en el futuro.

 

Los objetivos principales que nos mueven a participar en un proyecto de cooperación internacional son esencialmente: potenciar el desarrollo profesional del personal y del alumnado y contribuir a la modernización de nuestra institución.

 

Los países serán seleccionados en función de diferentes aspectos:

 

.-Preferencias de los alumnos, siempre y cuando la organización de acogida lleve a cabo los procedimientos esenciales, la formación y el programa.

.-Países en donde los estudiantes aprendan una lengua que les facilite el acceso al mercado de trabajo.

.-Contacto previo con los socios de acogida, que faciliten todo el proceso así como la eficacia de las actividades de movilidad llevadas a cabo.

También creemos que estos proyectos de cooperación internacional pueden representar una oportunidad laboral para nuestros estudiantes, abrirles nuevos horizontes y perspectivas de trabajo y proporcionarles un enriquecimiento cultural.

 

En esta línea, nos comprometemos a:

.-Acoger o enviar personal y/o estudiantes

.-Prestar medidas de apoyo a nivel institucional, departamental y administrativo que permitan a los participantes del proyecto llevar a cabo su trabajo.

.-Garantizar la difusión de las actividades y del modo de financiación así como hacer visibles los resultados obtenidos del proyecto mediante el uso de internet, presentaciones, carteles, jornadas gastronómicas, cursos específicos y otras actividades de difusión con el fin de que toda nuestra comunidad académica, instituciones de enseñanza superior y otros socios (empresas, autoridades educativas, organizaciones, asociaciones, etc.) lo conozcan.

 

Nuestro deseo es contar con el apoyo y la ayuda de toda nuestra institución, por ello promoveremos la participación de estudiantes y personal docente y no docente en este tipo de proyectos.

 

El impacto que el IES de Foz espera alcanzar por medio del desarrollo de este tipo de proyecto, en relación a la “Agenda de Modernización e Internacionalización” y a sus 5 prioridades básicas es el siguiente:

 

1. Incrementar el número de alumnos cualificados de FP para contribuir a las necesidades de la UE. De la actual y complicada situación para el empleo a raíz de la crisis económica, sobre todo para los jóvenes españoles, surge la necesidad de una mayor formación y una mejor adaptación a los nuevos mercados, por eso el centro, pretende dar nuevas oportunidades a sus estudiantes mediante este tipo de movilidades que puedan mejorar sus expectativas de futuro y proporcionar una salida profesional, a la vez que promueve la UE como destino de estudio e investigación. Un objetivo primordial para nosotros es motivar a los alumnos para que estudien una educación superior puesto que les ofreceremos la posibilidad de formarse en el extranjero, formarse como mejores profesionales gracias a la adquisición de habilidades adicionales necesarias.

 

2. Mejorar la calidad y la pertinencia de la educación superior en la UE. El desarrollo de este tipo de proyectos potenciará la mejora de la calidad de este tipo de educación, puesto que aportará un valor añadido más allá de la formación en el aula, básicamente a través de los programas de movilidad. Queremos hacer que la educación superior sea más atractiva y de calidad. Pretendemos fomentar las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación de la institución. Nuestro centro cuenta en la actualidad con dos redes cableadas. También contamos con una red wifi inalámbrica y disponemos de un aula virtual basada en una plataforma moodle y alojada en la Conselleria de Educación. También nos planteamos adoptar la aplicación WhatsApp, con ella podríamos crear grupos y, además de enviar y recibir mensajes mediante internet, podríamos intercambiar imágenes, videos y mensajes de audio con lo que ganaría en calidad el seguimiento de las movilidades.

 

 

3. Reforzar la calidad mediante la movilidad y la cooperación transfronteriza. La cooperación con otros países Europeos contribuirá a la mejora de la calidad de la educación en la escuela. La movilidad del personal será la clave para esta tarea, a través del conocimiento de la forma de actuar de otras organizaciones europeas con las principales oportunidades y objetivos de educación.Capítulo importante para nosotros en nuestra estrategia de modernización del centro es el contacto estrecho con las empresas con las que colaboramos y colaboraremos en el futuro.

 

4. Hacer que funcione el triángulo del conocimiento. Relacionar la educación superior, la investigación y las empresas para favorecer la excelencia y el desarrollo regional. Por un lado, los proyectos de cooperación están siempre relacionados con la investigación y la formación, especialmente los Proyectos Multilaterales, en continuo contacto con el mundo laboral con el fin de asegurar que la investigación está enfocada a las necesidades reales de la sociedad. Por otro lado, la movilidad fomenta este tipo de colaboración entre la educación y las organizaciones educativas con las empresas, contribuyendo a una mejora de la calidad de la educación. Con las movilidades de personal para docencia, además de fortalecer el vínculo entre educación, investigación y empresas tendremos la oportunidad de estar al día en las tecnologías más innovadoras lo que nos permitirá actualizar los contenidos de nuestra oferta educativa, formar mejor, y de manera más acorde a las necesidades reales del mercado laboral, a nuestros alumnos.

 

5. Mejorar la gestión y la financiación. El desarrollo de los proyectos Erasmus pondrá en contacto nuestras organizaciones con organizaciones de otras áreas geográficas y culturas, acercándonos la experiencia de estas organizaciones en cuestiones de gestión y financiación, contribuyendo a la mejora de nuestro país en ambos ámbitos.Los mecanismos de financiación en apoyo de la excelencia para satisfacer las necesidades del mercado laboral también contribuirán a conseguirlo. Las empresas contarán con unos empleados mejor formados lo que fomentará en última instancia la regeneración de la economía de las regiones y generará un impacto positivo en el entorno.

LANGUAGE POLICY

 

Incorporation of English in vocational training


The needs of an integrated labor market in the EU make the English language essential in the labour insertion of vocational training students.

On the other hand, it is necessary to give answer to the commitment with the educational aims on the English language posed for the next years for the same European Union.

In order to incorporate and standardize the use of English in professional situations and in decision making in the workplace, we must desing teaching and learning activities that incorporate the use of English at least in one of the subjects of the studies, except the English language subject or the Second foreing language subject, according to the learning results and assessment criteria set out in the guidance document published for each training cycle in the section “Oferta formativa” from the “http://www.edu.xunta.gal/centros/iesfoz/taxonomy/term/61” webpage.

 

The school will set the subject or subjects and develop activities in English.
