  • ANDY WARHOL/POP ART

    Andy Warhol is famous for his images of popular objects and people. He used everyday items such as soup cans and Coca-Cola bottles, or well-known characters like Mickey Mouse and Marilyn.

    The Pop art movement took place around the time that advertisements, images from television and comic books became very popular.

    Andy Warhol made Pop art prints. Steps:

    Firstly, he created an outline of the image.

    Then, he painted it with bright colours.

    Finally, he printed the contour lines from the original image on top.

  • ROMANTICISM ART MOVEMENT

    Most of the Romantic artists painted landscapes. They wanted to show the beauty and power of nature. Some Romantic artists wanted to escape the real world by painting landscapes that showed imaginary places.

  • GEORGE SEURAT / POINTILLISM

    George Seurat used a technique called Pointillism to paint outdoor scenes with thousands of tiny dots.

    Seurat invented this new technique by investigating and experimenting with pure colours. He placed different colours dots next to each other to create different effects in his paintings.

  • CLAUDE MONET / IMPRESSIONISM

    Claude Monet started an art movement called Impressionism. Impressionist artists studied the changing effects of natural light. They painted quickly and were not interested in showing small details clearly.

    Monet used  a combination of colours. that create mood, or feeling, of harmony and tranquility. Different combinations of analogous colours create moods in a landscape.

    He often  painted the same scene at different times of the day. The changes in light and colour made each painting look different.
