ERASMUS SPORT+ LONG LIFE TO WOMEN IN BASKETBALL (LOLIWO)

"Long Life to Women in Basketball" is the result of the work of a team formed by students of the Higher Training Cycle of "Senior Sports Technician of Basketball" and their teachers. This team, detected in its environment, and in society in general, a lower presence of women in sports in the following categories to children. We contacted different European clubs (Sweden, Germany, Portugal and Denmark), thanks to several years of Erasmus + mobility of students and teachers, and we found a problem in common: basketball players who leave it after 15- 16 years.

Our main objective in this project is: To promote social inclusion and equal opportunities in sports. Focusing on the fight against gender inequalities, the lack of resources, the few opportunities to be a professional athlete and the few possibilities of engaging in professional sports, can be the causes in the early abandonment of women's sports practice in basketball.

We believe that this project is innovative since we have not found anything related to our subject. It is a problem that is not only typical for a single country but also, goes through several other countries of the European Union. We intend to provide solutions and register a database of participants and establish patterns of behavior and evaluation of the activity by country.
